54 local tourism industry players received TSAM’s recognition

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is ready to welcome international tourists when the country reopens its borders on April 1, with 54 local industry players successfully recognised by Travel Safe Alliance Malaysia (TSAM) for fulfilling tourism health and safety standards. Speaking at the launching, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor hailed TSAM’s efforts to revitalise the State’s tourism industry which had been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.“It gives me immense pride to see the resilience of our tourism industry to rise up again despite very difficult challenges,” he said in his officiating speech, here, Thursday.

“TSAM’s endeavour greatly complements the State Government’s initiatives to uplift the tourism industry by promoting Sabah as a trusted, safe, and attractive tourist destination that caters to the modern traveller’s demand for health and safety.”TSAM is a joint partnership among four key tourism players to step up tourism recovery efforts.

The alliance membership comprises the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta), Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (Maceos), and the Malaysian Aviation Group (MAG).
